World of Warcraft
Wrath of the Something or Other
So, if you’re a World of Warcraft player, and you haven’t been living under a rock or out of the country or something like that, you know that the new expansion for the game is due out before the end of the year. I’m not sure how I feel about that. Actually, that’s a lie. I’m pretty stoked. However, I’m afraid I can’t be as excited as some people have been already, for a couple of reasons.
- I’m relatively new to the game, so I still haven’t had a chance to experience a lot of the existing content. I’m just now starting to explore Outland (the new zones added as part of the first expansion).
- My interaction with other players is still pretty limited. I think that’s just the way I do things. It might be a weird way to approach a game that is really based on a social foundation, but I keep a small circle of friends – mostly just my brother. I’m much more interested in playing with people who I know from my real life. This leads to my next point…
- I haven’t experienced content that takes more people; I also haven’t experienced a lot of the instances at the recommended levels. Since most of my playing time is just spent in two-man parties, my brother and I have to hit a lot of the instances once we’re a lot higher than the recommended levels.
I’m sure that in the time before the expansion comes out (rumored at the moment to be in November) I’ll have time to level up and hop on some PUGs to get more playtime into instances. At least, I hope so.
